WHAT a week...

Sorry for not posting sooner but we have had a CRAZY last week! Well, first off, we had company from out of town last weekend. On Saturday, Zachary was taking a nap and I decided to go check on him. He was sitting in his crib...smiling...COVERED in yes, the yucky stuff...the big "P" word. YIKES!!! I thought I was going to be sick. So I got him in the tub and cleaned up and it happened again...and then I gave him another bath and it happened again. OK, you get the picture. He threw up about 8 times and it was really bad. I ended up taking him to the ER because he couldn't keep anything down and I was really worried about him getting dehydrated. So we got there...and of course, you know how that goes...he got sick again all over me..and we had to sit in there for 4 hours. Ok, so we left there...after they diagnosed him with a middle ear infection...gave him 2 shots and sent us on our way. So on Sunday he was SO much better...and then Monday he was fine..went to daycare and I went to work. I was slammed at work...had a huge closing and had to focus. I knew that I wasn't feeling exactly right but I ignored it. At 4:30, when the closing was over, it hit me. I got SO sick. I got home and had a fever of about 104. I was freezing to death! I also couldn't keep anything down. I swear, I was sick as a dog...I couldn't eat for several days...had a terrible headache and ached ALL over! So I was out of work Tues and Wed and tried to go in today. That was no good. I also went to the dr. today and she told me that my blood pressure was very low and I was dehydrated...so she instructed me to take my @ss home and go to bed. She doesn't want me back at work until Tuesday! Can you believe that?! Oh well, I guess I'll just try to do some work from home tomorrow.

Ok, so while all of that was going on, I was trying to take care of Zachary, which as you can imagine was VERY difficult. So I had a little help last night which I was truly grateful for. During all of this, I was also very sad because my friend and supervising attorney was going through a really hard time. Last Thursday, he told me that his dad had a heart attack earlier that morning. They didn't think it was severe but he was getting checked out. Well, on Friday we found out that when he had the heart attack, he fell and hit his head. As a result, he had bleeding around his brain. On Saturday, he had to have brain surgery to have a hematoma removed. Now he said that his dad has made it through the critical 48 hour period but he is still in critical condition. The doctors have told them that he will make all improvement possible during the first year to year and a half of recovery. They also said that he will have to go through physical, occupational and speech therapy. It sounds like he will basically be starting over. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult this is on Rob and his family. He is married and they have 4 children. They are a VERY close knit family. It's just a horrible thing. One minute, things can be ok and the next minute, you can lose it all. It's so frightening! I would ask that you guys please, please pray for Rob and his family: Pray for strength for their family and a full recovery for Rob's dad.

Ok, last but not least, I decided to move Zachary to another daycare center. I have not really been happy with the one that he is in. I LOVE the lead teacher in his class (Ms. Sue) but there are so many other issues there that I just can't deal with. I don't feel that he is getting the attention that he deserves. I mean, he's happy there but I'm not. I'm his mommy though and I'm watching out for his best interest always. This new place is AWESOME!! It's a 5-star facility (with a 5-star price) but that's why God blessed me with a new job and a $12k raise. Also, it's a learning center, as opposed to just a daycare center. I have talked to other parents who have their children there and they love it. I really believe that this is the right move for us and I'm very excited about getting him started. His first day will be September 10. I had NO idea that it would be so stressful to change daycares but it is. I literally feel sick about taking him away from Ms. Sue. She just loves him and he loves her too. Luckily, she does babysit for us on the side so they will still get to see each other. I am just having to look at the big picture and base my decision on that.

I'm still not feeling very well so I apologize for rambling. Hope you are all doing well. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!!

Zachary's new rocking horse

Giddee Up Horsey!!!

So we made it through this week. It was interesting. I went out Tuesday night for "adult" night. Mrs. Sue from Zachary's daycare kept him for the evening. When I got home at 10pm he was sound asleep. She said that he had a really good night. ;-)) Neal and I had a really good night too. We went out to dinner and since he was driving, I had a martini. ;-)) YUMMY!!!

Neal had bought a little rocking horse for Zachary so we picked that up at took it back to the house. When Zachary got up yesterday morning, I took him downstairs and when he saw the horse, his whole face just LIT up!!! It is so cute and the perfect size for him. ;-)) So here are some pictures....

We'll post more over the weekend.

Hugs!

Zachary's walking, mommy loves her new job and so on...

It's been a little while since we've posted. We have been so busy. I absolutely LOVE my new job!!! The people are great and it's nice getting a $12k raise! ;-)) So here's what's been going on. Last weekend, we went home to see our family. We had a great time! Zachary is walking everywhere. He is SO proud of himself. He continues to be such a happy baby and oh how he loves his mommy!! He has really gotten adjusted to daycare. He loves the other children and plays well with them. He is also eating lots of table food. I'm really happy about this. I was wondering when it would happen. ;-))

I have attached some pictures from the last couple of weeks. Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool!!
