So it's been a while. I know I'm been slack about posting but there is just so much going on that some days I'm barely keeping my head above water (mostly just good stuff though). ;-) So we have been out and about a lot. I had a girls' night out a couple weekends ago. Also, have been dating some and going to dinner with friends. Things are good flowing right along. We have gotten really busy at work, which I'm happy about. I prefer to be slammed as opposed to the opposite. The day goes by so much faster.

Can you believe that on April 19 Zachary will have been home for one year? To me it seems like he has been here all along. It's hard to even remember what my life was like before him. I feel so complete now! Also, it's really hard to believe that he will be 2 years old on May 15. I have already started thinking about what to do for his birthday party but haven't made a decision about where to have it yet. I'm thinking about somewhere like Monkey Joe's or KidGym. I'll keep you posted.

A couple weekends ago I met up with some girlfriends and their babies at a consignment show. We had a great time. I spent about $25 and got some really cute stuff for Zachary. I found the most adorable little blazer. He wore it to church last Sunday. He looked like a little man. ;-) I also met up with some girl friends at a place called "Our Paintin Place". We each brought a bottle of wine, sat around and painted all evening. We had a great time! I painted a birthday plate for Zachary and it turned out great. When you see it you will probably notice a 'small' flaw. Keep in mind I was drinking wine while I was painting this...so give me a break ok? ;-))

What else? Oh, big news. I cut my hair!!! I absolutely love the new style. I have had something similar to this before. I have to say, I look and feel about 10 years younger with this haircut. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair...people keep telling me how flattering it is and that I look about 25. OK, so that's enough for me. Long hair is over-rated. I don't care what my guy friends say. I'm going to keep this look for a while. It's supposed to be the Lisa Rinna haircut but I think Tracy cut it a little short for that style. Anyway it will grow so in about a month or so, it should be right where I want it. I'll post pictures so you can see.

Last weekend my dad surprised us with a visit. We were so happy to see him. He has been sad lately, after losing his wife in January. When he gets around us, especially Zachary, it really cheers him up. He stayed with us Sunday night and Monday we spent the day together. We went to the Billy Graham Library and it was an awesome experience. The library itself is just gorgeous and the spiritual journey made us feel so refreshed. Zachary was such a little angel while we were there. It took about an hour to get through it. Then we shopped in the bookstore and got a couple of things. I bought this book for Zachary called "God's Wisdom for Little Boys". It is awesome!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! This has been a long week so I am really glad that we only have one more day to go. We have several things going on this weekend. Well, for one, it's triple coupon time at Harris Teeter right now. So I made three trips today, spent a total of $75 and saved $265. It was a good day! I got so much stuff...lots of it for free. So this weekend I will be bagging up some things and dropping them off at the women's shelter and at church. On Saturday, I am taking Zachary to a birthday party for one of his little friends at school. We're really looking forward to that. Then after we leave the party, we have a date (ok, I have a date and Zachary is coming with me). This is our second date and we have talked hours and hours on the phone so it won't be a big deal to take Z along. Then on Sunday, we'll go to church, come home and relax for the rest of the day.

I'm going to close for now. I have to get to bed. I have been working long hours this week and averaging about 6 hours of sleep a night. I keep telling myself that I will go to bed early every night but it just never happens. ;-))

Have a great weekend!!!

Little bit of this....little bit of that

That's what we've been doing! It's been a good week! I was off Monday so that made it even better. Last weekend we met my mom and stepdad at Sugar Mountain. They have a timeshare so we meet them there twice a year. We had a great time! We left right after I picked Zachary up from school on Friday. It took about 2 hours to get there and it started snowing about 30 minutes from the house. It was beautiful!!! It snowed so much that we couldn't get our car up the mountain to the house. So that was an adventure within itself! Luckily, the parents were around to help us out. Zachary had NO idea what was going on. We were spinning around and he was quiet as a mouse. I would have given anything to know exactly what he was thinking. ;-)

SO we had a nice and restful weekend! Zachary enjoyed spending time with Nana and Papa Sease! He was very fascinated by the fireplace too. He kept pointing to it and saying "fire, fire". We went out to dinner every night that we were there so as you can imagine, that was interesting. Zachary has the hardest time sitting still at the table. He was grabbing everything in sight. One of the restaurants that we went to had the greatest bib and table cover for kids. The placemat actually stuck to the table. I'm going to have to order some of those...very handy!

So I signed Zachary up for a music class at school. He played the drums last Tuesday. I think he has some musical talent. Maybe he'll become a rock star, make millions and be able to support me when I get old...LOL. Seriously though, I thought it would be cool for him to be in this class. They say music and instruments teach children all kinds of things, including coordination. So we'll see what instrument he plays next week. I think I'm going to sit in on the class next week so I'll get some pictures and post them.

We are looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow night we are double-booked! I'm meeting some girlfriends at a pottery bar. Should be interesting. You just bring a bottle of wine and they provide the rest. I'll let you know how that goes. We are also supposed to meet up with some other mommy girlfriends for MNI (Mommies night in). If we go to this Zachary will go with me. I'm looking forward to going because I am anxious to meet the other mommies I have been talking to on the forum. Speaking of which, that forum is SUCH a lifesaver!! I have learned so much!

Have a great weekend and we'll post more in a few days!
