This is my new BLOG!!!

This is so exciting!!!!! Several of my friends have blogs so I decided to set one up too. I wouldn't want to be left out. ;-))

I am in the process of adopting a baby boy from Guatemala. His name is Zachary Alexander and he is 8 1/2 months old. He was born on May 15, 2006. He is in foster care right now and has a wonderful foster mom. I have met her twice and she is just the greatest. Her name is America Gonzalez. She just loves Zachary and he loves her. She also has two other babies. One babies name is Nora. Her mom, Pam, and I have become friends. We are hoping that we will go on our pick-up trips at the same time so that we can meet and also so Zachary and Nora can spend time at the hotel together and we can get lots of pictures of them together. Pam and I have decided that we always want Zachary and Nora to stay in touch with each other. It's almost like they are brother and sister. ;-))

We have gone through the hardest and most emotional parts of the adoption now, I believe. After being in PGN since November 8 and having one kickout that was NOT our fault, we found out that we are finally on the director's desk (Senior Barrios). We are thrilled about this!!!!! We feel like now we are finally out of the woods and don't have to worry about getting another kickout. I mean it does happen occasionally but it's like 1% of the time. I'm not sure how long our file will sit on his desk but my coordinator at the agency says that he thinks we will be OUT of PGN next week!!!!! I also had a consulation with Adoption Supervisors earlier this week. It was free so I figured what the heck! I told them where we are in the process and they asked for some dates. They told me that we would probably be out next week sometime!!! I was just ecstatic. I immediately called my boyfriend, Mike, and told him about it. He was just thrilled. We are both so anxious to get Zachary home!!!! Just knowing that it won't be much longer is such a relief. This process has so much uncertainty in it that it can really make you a nervous wreck!!!! Ok, so that's all for tonight. I have been working really long hours this week so I am going to get some rest tonight. Tune in again tomorrow where I'll hopefully have more information. Rebecca
